Tilda With Bee Lantern

Sunny morning hello's.
Woohoo the sun has come out to play again and the wind has dropped, it's gorgeous today.

Over the weekend in between going out to a farmers market and visiting family, i have been having a play around with a fantastic 3D lantern the instructions i found at Stempeleinmaleins amazing blog, the lantern was created by the very talented Norma. i definately recommend a visit to both these blogs.

The instructions were very clear and easy to follow, and i imagine if you could sit down and do it from start to finish it wouldn't take very long at all, unfortunately i was trying to do bits and pieces here and there around everything else long.

i am so pleased with the finished results i think this would look gorgeous on the patio table on a summers evening with a little battery operated candle inside, or as some of the DT did they put sweets and chocs in.

I followed a fantastic sketch, again from Sketch Saturday on two sides of the lantern., the greeting is on the other side of the lantern, but that pic was even worse that this one, lol.

I used pastel blue Bazzil cardstock for the main frame of the lantern and some gorgeous papers from The Nancy Watt collection 'Cute Creatures', love all the little bee's and butterflies on it.
Iadded pale blue gems from Papermania and some little mesh butterflies i had hanging around, and some lovely lace which i got from my LCS.
The image is the gorgeous Tilda with bee, which i coloured with my Inkadinks, which i did on two sides of the lantern.

Will have to make another one for me now as i am giving this one to a friend who has just moved into her new home, which the tag on the other side of the lantern indicates, it says ''New Home''.

As well as Sketch Saturday's challenge this week, i would also like to enter my lantern into the following challenges -

Charisma Cardz - Something that flies
My Mum's Craft Shop - Things with wings
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Anything goes plus option of lace.
Just Magnolia - Anything goes

hope everyone has a great day

Oops really pushing the line with this, totally got my days mixed up lol thats what Bank Hols do for you, so am having to post now to make sure i get in before the final bell rings.

instead of a card i have made a canvas for my hallway. i have used a fantastic sketch from Sketch Saturday
Sketch Saturday are celebrating their 3rd birthday and have amazing prizes on offer and some fab work from their DT, so please pop by and have a look. their sponsor for this special event is the craft barn who are holding a craft event this weekend .

I had so much fun with this one, painting the canvas, handstitching and distressing the gorgeous papers from Nit Wits, so fresh and summery, and colouring the beautiful Sarah Kay image with my inkadinks.

I am so pleased with how it turned out, i'm already thinking of making more for the different seasons and holiday events throughout the year.

As well as the challenge at Sketch Saturday i would also like to enter my summer days canvas at

Summer's coming

OMG where does the time go, cant believe it was November that i last blogged, disgusting lol.

well we are already at the start of summer,it doesn't seem five minutes ago that we were celebrating Christmas and New Year.
Well to kick my backside into gear and to celebrate the start of summer i have actually managed to do some crafting the past few days, which for once over the past god knows how many months i have really enjoyed..
Tomorrow i have something to share that i have had great fun making, but that's tomorrow, so back to today, i have made a beautiful box for Pixie Dust Paperie's challenge which is this fab sketch

instead of making a card i decided to get a headstart on DD's birthday next month, so i made a gorgeous gift box for her using her picture instead of the usual stamped image ( she'll be thrilled to see this in blogland.................NOT, lol, sorry hun xx), and used the sentiment my favourite things, so she can use the box afterwards as a keepsake box.

i painted the box in pastel green and then mounted some pretty patterned paper onto pale yellow cardstock then stuck it onto the box and lid.. i have no idea who the paper is by as there were no identifying labels/names on it. everything else is from my stash. The gorgeous lace yo yo on the side of the lid i recieved in some candy as well as the flowers.
As well as Pixie Dust Paperie's sketch challenge i would also like to enter
Michele over at Crafts 4 Eternity -alter something.
Sentimental Sundays - anything but a card plus sentiment.
2 Sisters Challenge Blog - anything goes.

hope you are all having a great day and enjoying some gorgeous weather.
